Summary – Thor Manufacturing is a privately owned company and has been in business since 1945.  Thor designs and manufactures pneumatic grain handling equipment under the Conveyair brand name and has a full scale steel manufacturing facility where we produce assembly-ready components for a wide variety of industries.

Thor Manufacturing is currently seeking a Design Engineer to join our Winnipeg office.  This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to work in a small business environment with a variety of job tasks in a fast paced environment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Design new products and equipment.

  • Analyze designs and develop test procedures.

  • Create or coordinate operator and parts manuals.

  • Design and update existing products to improve functionality while increasing manufacturability with an eye to reducing costs.

  • Support contract manufacturing division.

  • Project management.

  • Quality Control.

  • Other related duties as required.

 

Requirements

  • Engineering Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in equipment design.

  • Strong people skills with the ability to work in a team environment.

  • Self-motivated, hardworking, flexible, with strong attention to detail.

  • Agriculture background and knowledge of pneumatic material handling is considered an asset.

  • Experience in AutoCAD and Solidworks. 

  • Understanding of steel manufacturing and machining process.

  • Excellent time management and project management skills.
